National
Medical Lab Week
by Gloria Kragness, CLSA NMLW Chair |
|
NMLW, April 18 - 24, will be here soon! I urge all laboratorians to plan
activities to celebrate our profession and our contribution to healthcare. For
NMLW 2003, the UAA students participated in "lab art" (using only lab supplies),
Who is this young child?, Who does this pet belong to?, and Laboratory crossword
puzzle contests. In 2003, CLSA created 2 newspaper display ads featuring
Alaskan laboratorians in Yukon-Delta and Anchorage areas. This year the CLSA
planned activities include creating a display ad honoring laboratorians in the
Fairbanks area, obtaining a proclamation from the Governor and sending packets
of activity suggestions to laboratories in Alaska. It's never too early to
start thinking about FUN celebrations to enhance awareness about roles
laboratorians play in the diagnosis and treatment of all patients. |
